b.    Which evaluation criteria did you use to evaluate the multimedia websites for your “Dream Holiday”? Why?

c.    Why did you choose to go to your Dream Holiday destination.

b)I used the purpose, coverage, currency and accuracy. It is because it is important to have all this. Thus, will be consider as a  good website. With the criteria currency, it is important to tell the audience the up-to-date information about the japan but not the past year thing. It website also must know the purpose of why they want to create website for people to visit. How big the content will they cover for audience for them to understand well. Well accuracy also important they should put accurate information but not inaccurate information that will mislead the audience.

c)To get to experience the country that i had always wanted to go to. Furthermore, to see how it looks like and buy some thing that i will not be able to buy in singapore. One of the thing that influence me to like japan is the anime which i like it very much.

d)I think both of them have their pros and cons. For second life, we get to go to the destination that look almost the same as the places will make us feel like we have really go there before that kind of feeling. But just looking at those places we can't know much about japan. While the website we can look for alot of information about the japan but we cannot get the same feel as the second life experience that we feel like we are at there before

Practical 6 Reflection

A.    Do you think it is more effective to search the invisible web (databases) than using search engines, meta-search or subject directories? Why?

Yes, i think it is more effective to search the database as database has more authoritative source and more reliable while search engine not able to do so. Next, it is that many of them are maintain by the government agency and non-profit organization thus it has mroe accurate information than those who search through search engine which is written by others. Next, We can search even more details than others search search as we can search its year, language and more....

B.    Name ONE database which you will use for your research topic. Why?

one of the database that  i will use for my research topic is the LexisNexis as it can search through singapore newspaper(Straits Times) that it is official and accurate information. So that i don't have to worry my information is inaccurate/fake information.

C.    Name ONE more database which you will use for your course. How will you use this database for your course?

Another database that i will use for my course will be school database Newslink. I will use this to search for my information for others module such as CMSK3 Report. Because everytime we finish use the website as reference for this report. We have to write the referecing list/Bibliography so that we would not be taken as plagarism. Thus, i need to have the those author name, year publish and title. So i can easily find it on the article that i use the database to search for. While if i use search engine to search for my information. It always not able to find any information about the author name, title and year publish.

Prac 1&2 Different Purpose of website

1.   Why do you think there is a need for researchers to know the different purposes of websites? Explain using examples of websites you often visit or those which you have encountered while researching on your research topic.

     it is obvious that the researchers need know the purpose as it know what the website is all about then the researchers can find the information that he/she needs. Example of a website that i always go to buy my games when i want to buy games. The website is www.qisahn.com . I know that the purpose of the website is to give information for game that you can buy,pre-order or check the price of the game. So i know the purpose of the website, making me always go to the website to check,buy and pre-order. And looking for what information or thing i want to do at the website. So it is more confortable to search the thing i want through internet at home without going down to look for myself. So that we wouldn't waste alot of time on that website which don't have the info you are finding

Wk 4 E-learning(collaboration with HKpoly student)

At the beginning when i start at temasek polytechnic destination,Even though it was already pass 15min there still don't have much hkpoly student as it only has 2.Making me have to teleport to HKcampus to find HKpoly student to chat. Although HKcampus is much more crowded than the temasek polytechnic.Obstacle doing this e-learning is finding a HKpoly student to chaat as it is very limited as compare to ratio we temasek student have much more than HKPoly making some of us need to group it.

The HKpoly student that i chatted with has the dream destination of japan even though she already gone there before she still like to go again.Afterward we keep on chatting by question each others thing that we want to know.Even though it is fun, it was still a difficult task to do E-learning as there are limited HKpoly student and hard to identify who is HK and who is temasek
